About SVKM's NMIMS Indore
SVKM's Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) was established in 1981 by Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM) to meet the growing demand for management education. In 2003, NMIMS was declared a Deemed-to-be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956. Guided by its vision to become a globally admired University by 2030 and its mission to emerge as a Centre of Excellence—best in class in India and Asia and aspiring to be the best in the world—NMIMS has been expanding its academic footprint across the country.
Considering the need for global-quality education in Madhya Pradesh, the state government invited NMIMS to establish an off-campus centre in Indore. As a result, 25 acres of land were allotted near the Super Corridor—an ambitious project of the Indore Development Authority that involves major corporate and IT companies.
The Indore campus houses five specialized schools, including the School of Technology Management & Engineering (STME). STME, a constituent school of SVKM's NMIMS University, was set up to address the growing demand for engineers and to integrate technology with management education. It plays a pivotal role in providing excellence in engineering and management education, creating skilled professionals of value to industry and society at both national and international levels.
